Participating housing authorities bring staff, residents, and local partners together for a free one-day training run by the Northeastern IPM Center. By the end of the day, each person knows about IPM and how it can be used to manage cockroaches, rodents, and bed bugs. Following the training day, the PHA works with us to pilot IPM at one site for a year.
The 21 public housing authorities (PHAs) that participated in training from 2007-present are shown in red on the map. Trainings that are scheduled for 2012 are marked in blue.
By May 2012, we will have trained 20 more PHAs in IPM. Prospective states are AL, CT, GA, PA, MA, ME, MD, MO, NY, TN, and VA. See our Training Calendar for scheduled trainings.
Training opportunities are limited, but we maintain a waiting list and work with our national partners to try to meet the demand.
