Pests set up shop and infest where they can readily find food, water, and shelter. A home with poor housekeeping can be pest-free if pests are never introduced. In multifamily housing, however, the likelihood of no introduction is low because residents visit each other and bring home used items. Multifamily properties have to work extra hard to detect pests early and take action as soon as a pest is found.
